Internship Semester
General Informationen
A compulsory internship semester (30 CP) is part of the degree programs Theology and Development Studies (TDS), Theologie/Pädagogik im interkulturellen Kontext (TPI), and Theologie/Soziale Arbeit im interkulturellen Kontext (TSA). It takes place in the 5th or 6th semester in a relevant organisation either in Germany or abroad.
During the internship semester, students familiarize themselves with the with the conditions that determine the respective field of practice by taking on tasks to be completed independently. The practical activities are carried out under professional supervision by the internship provider and the academic supervision of the IHL module coordinators.

The guideline for internship provider contains basic information for the internship semester and, in particular, the requirements of the IHL for the supervision of students.
The objectives, content and course of the internship semester are regulated by the regulations for the internship semester. The curricular content is regulated in the module description B2601 TPI, B2602 TSA und B2603 TDS in the Curriculum.
The IHL regulations and individual agreements with the internship provider are set out in the IHL internship agreement. It is concluded between the students, the internship provider and the IHL before the start of the internship semester.
