Juni 2024 Seite [213] • Social diseases and addictions • Financial aspects of health programmes • Major players in global Health: WHO programme, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation etc. Submodul 3: Vulnerable Groups Course objectives: Professional expertise Students acquire knowledge of: • the statics and dynamics of the social fabric of communities • various vulnerable groups such as: widows, single female, single mothers, orphans, disabled, old age people, homosexuals, transgenders, drug adicts, other ethnically, socially or culturally ostracised groups • their background, plight, needs and rights • of trigger points and mecanisms for communal violence against such groups • cultural and religious reasons for discrimination and hatred Course objectives: Skill set Students are able to • be sensitive towards open as well as hidden discrimination in communities. • understand the complexity of the roots of discrimination and ostracism. • identify the needs of the different groups develop ideas to mitigate and improve the repsective situation.
