Course objectives: Skill set Students are able to • discuss various approaches to understanding the Bible. • exegete biblical texts with the help of secondary literature and other resources. • interpret biblical texts against the background of ancient Jewish and Hellenistic culture. • apply their hermeneutical and exegetical knowledge and skills in various cultural contexts.
